This 20m2 sun room was commissioned by private clients with a desire to be immersed in their garden all year round. Truly a ‘garden room’, its materiality is dissolved into the simple interplay of transparent/translucent horizontal and vertical planes of toughened glass. The glass roof is supported by a laminated glass beam and column.
A retractable horizontal sun screen offers shade in the summer and heating vents, set flush into the surface of the floor, provide warmth in the winter. The extension has become a delightful space of enjoyment for the client’s family and friends.
